Hello Fellow Baseball Geeks and Tiger's Fanatics,

Well the day has finally arrived! Pitchers and catchers report to spring training today. Ahhh, spring training. Where hope springs eternal and every team can win the World Series, at least in the hearts of their fans. Although for Tiger's fans this usually signifies a short stretch before the team is all but eliminated from the playoff race. Then we return to looking forward to the draft, free agency and next year.

I am new to this whole blog universe and am excited to try it out. I have no clue how to use this technology yet. I recently joined the rest of the industrial world when I got an ipod for Christmas. Big props to the father-in-law for that fact. I really enjoy the baseball geek's podcast. Hopefully the information will prove beneficial for fantasy leagues. I took a few years off to attend graduate school, but I am back for more. I am looking forward to discussing all things Tigers, the AL Central, Fantasy Baseball and any other MLB topics. I noticed there is not much of a Tiger's presence on Baseball Geeks so I am hoping to change that.

My first question or topic is...Where will the Tiger's finish in the AL Central in 2006?

Go Tigers!!!

Hey Olde English!

Looking forward to your future blog entries. If you have any questions about the system (or suggestions for improvement), just give me a holler.

Thanks for your comments on the podcast.

The AL Central is a TOUGH division for your Tigers, and I am sure you are realistic about that.

On the bright side, how could the Tigers be any worse than KC?

By the way, OE, if you would like an easier web address for your blog (how about tigers.baseballgeeks.com), let me know and it is yours.

The AL Central is the toughest division in baseball! I'm going with the Tigers finishing . . . . . 1ST!!!

I couldn't bear it if I picked them lower than that and then they won the division. Well, I'll give the Sox props for winning the series last year and say that the Tigs will finish in second and be the wild card.

Welcome rmayer,

Great to have more Tiger's fans involved! I love your enthusiasm. Hopefully your predictions will come true. I'll be rooting for a 1st place finish for the Bengals, but with 12 straight seasons with a losing record...finishing above .500 would be a great start. Go Tigers!!!

OE,

Just want to let you know that you are not alone ... I grew up watching the Tigers and still follow them from down here in Georgia (I also follow the Braves ... one AL team, one NL team).

I agree, baby steps ... lets get to .500 then we can think about winning the division!

Hey Green Caesar,

Great to have you on board! The great thing about the technology these days is you can easily follow any team from anywhere. Your situation really highlights a little know fact about the passion and committment of Tigers fans. The past decade or so has been tough and dimished the national recognition of the Tabbies, but Detroit truely is a baseball town at heart. This is not a crack on Hockeytown or any other sports teams in the city. Detroit is a great sports town...probably the best sports town, but I am biased. At least you got a good draw in moving to Georgia and inheriting a team that wins the division every year since about the 80s. The Tigers still have not recovered from the John Smoltz trade. I look forward to getting your opinion and analysis on issues involving the Tigers.

Go Tigers!!!
